When my students walk through the door, their creative juices begin to follow. They are so excited to know that their is really no right or wrong with their selection of fabrics. Everyone project will be as different and unique, as the person who made it. The art of quilting is an excellent creative outlet, quilting does improve their mental and emotional health. Keeping ourselves mentally and emotionally healthy is related to their overall physical well-being, which is why creative arts like quilting, sewing, and other crafting is so important in our daily lives. This is a stress free environment. Not only does quilting carry on a time-honored tradition of artistry and skill, but it also brings people together and allows them to express themselves using fabric and textile art. The students will make quilts, pillow cases, T-shirt/Memory quilt, tote bags, microwave bowl, cell/tablet stands, aprons, learn measurement, 1/4 seams, tissue holders, etc. In order to do this they need supplies.
