Flexible seating allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. My students are only 6 years old and can't be expected to sit in one spot all day. Last year, students were unable to leave their desks. With the floor cushions, students will be able to choose where they want to sit comfortably. This increases their engagement allowing them to be more successful in the classroom. The chair bands will allow students to have movement without causing disruptions when participating in whole group lessons. I want my students to feel the joy school has to offer. Last year, students were unable to work together. With the literacy and math games I have requested, they will be able to work in groups so they can learn to cooperate, problem solve, and take turns. They will have fun practicing these important skills instead of it always being a workbook page. Students will be engaged during these activities so I'm able to pull students to my small group without interruption.
