In my pre-k classroom, we start every science lesson by putting on our pretend scientist goggles and talking about how we are real scientists. We form hypotheses, follow the scientific method, and draw conclusions through hands on and engaging science experiments. These lab coats, goggles, and science materials will transform my science lessons from playing pretend to conducting real life research. Students will wear these coats and goggles while creating baking soda and vinegar reactions, documenting plant growth, exploring the five senses, and so much more. I imagine that when my students walk in on science day and see their lab coats on their chairs, they will know they are in for another exciting scientific adventure. After all, we are REAL scientists!
