The Raspberry Pis will give these 8th graders many opportunity to learn a variety of elements in STEM. Students will learn coding in the Python language. Python is a beginner-friendly coding language. As we study encryption and cryptology, students will write their own code to decrypt ciphers. They will work on a motion detection project when we talk about physical security and how to detect physical vulnerabilities. Group projects will allow the students to explore Internet of Things/Home Automation, as well as the dangers of unprotected devices. When we learn about logic and circuits, students will design projects with logic gates on the Raspberry Pi. So many open source projects are available online and students will have their choice to utilize their minds and creativity to construct a Raspberry Pi Project.
