My first graders will be able to transfer the Spanish strategies they learn in my class to their English classroom. The books that we are requesting are closely related to the books that they are exposed to during English instruction. These books will support my students reading proficiency during the second language while exposing them to authentic literature that will certainly foster their language development. Having access to a wide section of books will enable my students to participate in our end of year nonfiction reading clubs. Each student will become an expert on a topic and share their new knowledge with peers and other grade levels.
