In my classroom we work with partners and in small groups throughout the day. The round tables and cushions will enable my students to work together in collaborative, flexible seating. The atmosphere of the classroom sets the energy and engagement levels. When students can work on their reading, writing and math they build skills they'll need not only in future classrooms but for success in all they do. Sometimes working at desks isn't the best way to achieve collaborative growth, but when we need to work as partners or in groups the tables and cushions will be an essential component.
