As a Special Education Teacher and as a person that has experienced difficult circumstances, I provide my students with anything that I think will help them be successful to the best of their ability. Currently, my school is fostering the Integrated Co-Teaching setting where 2 or more educators are assisting "at risk" students in every way possible. Many of my students come from low-income families, have interrupted school learning (thus, missing foundational skills), and a large population of my students are in shelters, foster homes, and/or homeless. With all of their struggles on top of the budget cuts my school is facing, I want to find other means to support and finance supplies that they are entitled to. Some of these supplies include basic necessities such as snacks, health/hygienic items, and often times, school supplies. My students need academic and emotional support to be successful.
