Electronics... a key component that every child in today's society enjoys! What better than using electronics to drive students motivation to learn? I am looking to provide my students with 6 kindle fires and protective cases to utilize during independent inquiry centers. What are independent inquiry centers and why are they important? Independent inquiry centers are physical areas (or station) designated for specific learning purposes. Inquiry centers are designed to provide appropriate materials to help students work independently or collaboratively (with partners or in small groups) to meet grade level standards. Within my classroom, inquiry centers provide students with autonomy, while making meaningful connections between learning standards. Technology is the most popular independent inquiry center within my classroom! This past year my students enjoyed accessing set programs on the school's Chromebooks, to help guide their learning. Unfortunately, the school Chromebooks were taken from classrooms to assist in secondary standardized testing. If my classroom had kindle fires, my students would be able to enjoy the technology center, daily, during independent inquiry centers! Please help our classroom dive further into inquiry and self guided learning! Thank you for your consideration!
