The materials and supplies that I am requesting for my students are greatly needed and already have a place. Read 180 requires students to use headphones for listening and speaking. Since we have no carpet and we need to meet on the floor for whole group, I will use the foam tiles to create a large gathering area for each group. The rugs and four flexible seating chairs will be put to use at our independent reading station to ease some of the anxiety students might have when reading and make the area comfortable for them to read and comprehend. You can help support the reading achievement of 60 students each year by donating! Read 180 was introduced to our campus in January and was grant funded. Due to student success, it is now a district funded position. Read 180 is a reading intervention program that supports below grade level students to facilitate improved reading proficiency levels. The students have 4 crucial areas of meeting involved with the program: whole group, small group, student application, and independent reading. Different students will be reached each year, so by donating you will be helping students reach their reading goals for years to come.
