The importance of literacy is obvious. Having the ability to read and write effectively can have a major impact on the success one experiences within a lifetime. My students require development of literacy skills to support their academic growth as well as their daily communication needs. In order to do this I am constantly searching for materials that will provide multiple opportunities for practice. These Reading and Writing Centers can make a huge difference in my classroom. I will be able to use these centers to meet the needs of my students. This will include those that need a push to be more independent and those that need extra practice with the support of a classroom aide. Without a doubt these centers will be put to use nearly everyday!
