I have struggling readers who I pull in small groups to do guided reading with. However, it is hard to do so when I am short on book sets of the same titles. Having First Little Reader leveled book sets will give my students and I the opportunity to all sit together and really reinforce those reading strategies and skills. The students can benefit from having a small group instruction that focuses on their needs. I am also in need of big books. Big books are great for shared reading - an important part of our literacy component. They are used during mini lessons to teach my students how to apply these strategies in their own reading. Having these resources will help my students become successful readers. My students enjoy learning, especially when it comes to reading. It's such a wonderful feeling to see them dive into their books. I believe that with the right materials and learning opportunities given, my students have the potential to soar into the success of becoming fluent readers.
