We try to keep homework to a minimum but sometimes its necessary reinforcement for new concepts. When we do send it home we want students to get credit for their hard work. First graders are still learning how to organize but this pocket chart makes it easy for them to be responsible and stay organized. Organizational skills are life skills that will be helpful to them throughout their lives. In addition to the pocket chart, you will see protective covers for names tags for students. I primarily use the name tags with instructional references to support students in their handwriting development but there are math references too. Without the protective cover, the name tags have a much shorter lifespan. I hope to have students use them for the remainder of the year. The pocket chart will be usual for years to come. Thank you for considering this project to support. I know there are many choices and I am honored you took the time to consider mine.
