"Tell me and I forget. Teach me and I remember. Involve me and I learn."-Benjamin Franklin All of the items on my wishlist will give my students the opportunity to be hands on learners. Instead of just sitting and listening to a story read to them, the storytelling kits and puppets will give the students the ability to see the characters come to life and be able to interact with the story. Most of my students are non-verbal so the puppets and objects that come with the kits will allow them to be a part of the story. Each week we have a letter that we focus on and learn about. The 'All About Letters Pocket Chart' and 'AlphaBots' will give the students a better visual about the letter that we are learning. They will also have the opportunity to be hands-on, interactive learnings while using the math and reading manipulatives. While using the manipulatives and the sand, my students will also be able to increase their motor skills.
