Everyone is different, but our desks and seats are made for one body type - designed for the middle. I don't have any average students. I had all different shapes and sizes. Flexible vs Rigid - classroom seating can either make or break the learning environment. The coffee house is a great place to work and hangout. The classroom is a place to endure and get out. We need to make the classroom a place where students can't wait to come to. Engagement would be much easier if the environment was warm and welcoming. Having the students comfortable means they will be learning without realizing that I'm teaching.
