We have a very active first grade classroom. We will have 20 students in the room this year. Of these 20 I know of 2 on IEPs and several will be getting extra help in math and reading. We move through our day spending some time up and moving every 20-30 minutes. First graders are easier to keep focused if you give them time to get up and move that this planned in. The flexible seating in our room helps for students to move when they need to, and without bothering others around them.
