My students come from a high poverty area and can't afford the supplies necessary needed in school. Approximately ninety-nine percent are on free/reduced meals. This doesn't damper their learning spirit. They love to be encouraged but have little parental involvement. That's where we, as teachers, come in. We want them to have the same opportunities as students in other schools do. We are asking for supplies to be used in our writing class.
