I want to bring wearable heart rate sensor technology into my classroom to develop an effective physical education program. Wearable heart rate sensor technology is truly the only method available in physical education to objectively measure student effort and progress. The heart is at the center of our health and fitness. Being able to accurately monitor, measure, record and transmit heart rate data in real time is essential for purposeful physical activity. By using heart rate monitors with real time display, you can monitor how much time students are spending in each of the zones. This allows students to take responsibility for their own level of effort in the classroom. Incorporating heart rate monitor technology further perpetuates physically literate individuals who have the knowledge, skills and confidence to enjoy a lifetime of healthy physical activity. Heart rate sensors are a fabulous way to bring 21st century technology into our classrooms that engage, assess, empower and motivate our students to pursue safe and active lifestyles.
