Many of my students have special needs and require the use of augmentative communication, such as picture icons, individually made adapted materials, and first then boards and schedules. The card stock, printer/ink/toner will be used to print pictures/icons, and other printed materials, and the laminating machine and laminating sheets will be used to make the card stock durable while protecting the material from overhandling and constant use. Many templates and materials can be found on teacherspayteachers which helps to save time with getting materials to students quickly. Velcro and pouches are used to store materials and make them able to use over and over. Picture exchange and visuals help to stimulate language and communication and have been proven to help children with disabilities, particularly students with Autism or a developmental delay.
