The Spanish books that I am mainly requesting are read alouds like Don Quijote which will teach my students imagery, personification, and figurative language which my kids will enjoy reading more in depth. Kids also love anime, Wonder, and Judy Moody books. My students need resources in their native language in order to comprehend and relate to the text that they are reading. The best part of my day is when I gather my fifth graders around the carpet as I read aloud a book whose theme could be about self-esteem, bullying, having a growth mindset, or a current event within our community.
