When you walk through the door into Room 612, you are taken to an extraordinary place where learning is enhanced in many facets, each able to meet the Intellectually Gifted skills and outcomes set forth by the Mississippi Department of Education. My gifted classroom is unique. There is room for projects and creativity and fun messes to be made with experimenting. There is also room for journaling, group work, and sharing in discussions. I am proud to be the facilitator that amplifies the learning capabilities for my gifted students in grades 2-6. My students are my inspiration. Our schools have a high rate of poverty and low income households, yet you would never be able to tell when you meet my students. They are passionate, giving, positive, and willing to give their all in any activity no matter the difficulty level. My students are taught to not use the word "hard", but instead replace it with "challenging".
