Our class is launching a "Genius Hour". We will be spending time each week on research projects that connect to our interests. Having the technology at our finger tips will encourage us to wonder, ask questions, and look for different solutions to problems. The students will be collaborating on various literature activities and will use the five Chromebooks to deepen and challenge their own thinking. They will be able to create shared documents to clarify information and expand on the ideas of others. In addition, students will be able to blog about their lives and "Genius Hour" projects. This will provide them with a platform to receive real world feedback on their writing and to have an authentic audience. The more time students spend writing, the better they will be at communicating.
