My students are in 5th grade and attend a economically diverse neighborhood school. They love to do their daily art lessons and have already made much impressive progress. Some of the students did not grow up being exposed to the arts, others have more family support. Our school district has cut the arts budget dramatically due to overall financial shortcomings. It is now up the each classroom to promote the arts and develop young students who will value art in their lives.
