Some students cannot afford a reliable, 2 line, scientific calculator to do this and end up trying to do scientific calculations by hand instead.My students try to do many calculations by hand instead of focusing on the larger chemistry concept we are working on. We need scientific calculators to work with moles and atoms. We deal with very large numbers that make it necessary to use calculators to complete many types of chemistry problems and complete labs. I am working on teaching my students to format formal lab reports similar to published scientific papers. As such we need precise data to come to the correct conclusions.

About my class
