Students will utilize Edpuzzle, Quizizz, Kahoot, IXL, Edmentum, and other online programs daily to enrich content (ancient Mesopotamia, Egypt, Rome, Greece, India, Africa, China, Americas, Middle Ages, etc.). Student state exam proficiency increased from 71 percent to 85 percent in a year with the addition of iPads in the classroom. Unfortunately, there are a limited number of these devices in the school, and my subject area (Social Studies) does not count towards school accountability like ELA/Reading and Mathematics. We only have three desktops in the classroom that students have to share in groups, so student access to technology like an iPad, which they could use on an individual basis, is highly limited. Having our own five classroom iPads will enable students to reach even higher proficiency marks on state exams and improve their classroom grades.
