Many of our students require exposure to a letter or concept 50-75 times before moving into long term memory. They learn through using different sensory options. All students vary personality wise through their learning process; their frustrations often show through repeated teachings. While taught untraditionally, these students learn and work hard most days. It is not uncommon to work on goals such as letter recognition, phonics, digraphs, blends and sight word reading. Most students have cognitive delays and fall 2-3 years behind their peers. My work is a passion for me and I find It very rewarding.
