In our music classroom, we regularly use classroom instruments to give our students hands-on experience learning about the beat and rhythm in music. We currently have a mixed set of hand drums: some newer, some older, and some of lesser quality. Due to the extensive use of these drums, some of our older classroom drums have endured some damage over the years. Replacing them with these new Remo hand drums will allow us to maintain a full, high-quality, matching classroom set. By helping us purchase just a few new drums now, you will assist us in continuing to give our students the opportunity to begin their musical journeys using high-quality instruments that will last for years to come. We are requesting a set of fluorescent light filters as well, to help make our learning environment more inviting. Many students endure headaches, eye strain, and/or light sensitivity due to prolonged exposure to fluorescent lights. These filters will help to lessen those issues, as well as make our projector screen much easier to see. We use our projector every day for multiple purposes, including reading lesson materials, watching musical demonstrations, reading music - the majority of our classroom activities! We try not to waste paper by printing hundreds of copies that will end up in the wastebasket later anyway. These light filters will help allow our students to see the projector screen without their eyes having to constantly adjust to lights turning off and on. Please consider helping to improve our classroom materials and learning environment so that we can keep on drumming along!
