The COVID-19 crisis has greatly impacted students nationwide. My students have been dedicated to their coursework and have shown oodles of growth in just one semester. As they continue to close the learning gaps, I would like to be able to provide them with experiences that would reignite their love and passion for learning during this difficult time. These immersive experiences would enhance discovery and lead to investigating compelling phenomena. This project would give my students a chance to escape the real world and dive in to the solar system or nature without ever leaving my classroom. With these materials, I would be able to successfully implement an Oculus Quest adventure station in my classroom. The seating will provide a comfortable place for students to get lost in the experience. They will also be able to better enjoy the adventure with headphones that can provide audio for each user. This project will not only allow my students to experience new things, but will also provide mental stimulation that can act as a distraction from pain and psychological trauma they may be experiencing during the pandemic.
