I want to create a space for students to sit and relax and simply enjoy reading. They will form book groups and interact with each other by sharing their likes and dislikes, creating projects and doing book talks. These books will enhance my classroom library and all books have been chosen to encourage my students to find ones that they enjoy. Reading expands the mind, encourages creative thinking, improves concentration, and can help students de-stress. By having a variety of novels, students can join in discussions and hone their reading skills through novels that THEY get to choose. They will interact in person with others and that should help them with some of the social issues that have arisen from online learning. I want to create lifelong readers by showing them that they CAN love to read. I also want to provide a warm and inviting space for them to read in by creating a reading nook.
