Joe on the Go! We will be 100% student-led, owned and operated! We will take orders Monday through Thursday, and on Friday we will make and deliver hot coffee, (various creamers) as well as various flavors of hot tea. In the warmer months, we will look at adding iced drinks, sweet tea, lemonade, etc. We are in need of the Keurig single-serve coffee maker, K-Cups, tea bags, creamers, cups, lids, stirrers as well as a cart to house everything. The cart must have wheels, and needs to be sturdy so that we can deliver our beverages with a smile. This will allow for my students to learn real-life job skills, as well as social skills. In addition, we will learn food prep, cleanliness, and several other skills that can be generalized throughout their life. We will take orders from faculty and staff in the building, and on Friday deliver piping hot, coffee and various teas. The students will learn money math, job skills, etc. This will be an on going unit every week for the remainder of this year, and for years to come. My students are with me for no less than 3 years, and this will follow them to high school, as the high school teacher will be doing the same unit. This is a skill-set that will make lasting impressions on students who learn best via hands-on, real life experiences. Please help us make this project happen!
