Engaging Math games are essential to reinforce skills taught in the classroom. I love allowing time in the day for students to interact with one another in an academic setting. Using hands- on materials allows the students to visualize and manipulate abstract concepts in a concrete way. The games I chose either allow students to work in a groups or partners. They will be able to practice a mathematical skill and communicate about it, which allows for a deeper level of understanding. Number sense is the basis of math and requires thorough practice. While using the fraction number lines and part-whole cards, my students will be able to gain a stronger comprehension of number sense through manipulating numbers on the graphic organizers. The self-teaching machines and flash cards are a great way for students to practice math facts with the opportunity to check for accuracy.
