My heterogeneously mixed classroom of 22 students (on avg.), come from a variety of socio-economic backgrounds and ethnicities. My sixth graders will be coming to me for Science and Geography during the 2015-2016 school year. Our school's goal is to increase student achievement by providing collaborative efforts that integrate both traditional and innovative approaches to education in a positive school environment while encouraging confidence and self-esteem within all students; involving parents, community, and school staff. Visitors will find both print and technology blended into my classroom curriculum, giving students a a wide spectrum of learning opportunities. Recently, students ended the school year with showcasing a "Living Museum" on China, one of the regions explored in our Sixth Grade Geography curriculum. Students researched and presented a China topic through the use of books and the Internet.
