These tablet donations will allow my 6th grade math students to participate in rigorous yet engaging learning experiences to make sense of the math we learn in class. As 6th graders at an urban school with a 100% female student population, the large majority of whom are young ladies of color, my students fall into just about every category of underrepresented minority groups in STEM (science, technology, engineering, math) fields. Despite this, they approach making sense of rigorous Common Core math concepts and skills with zest and creativity, especially when a touch screen is involved. Therefore, teaching math + tween girls + technology = learning!

About my class
