I teach both Biology and AP Environmental Science to high school students. Both classes are lab intensive, hands-on courses, investigating the living world and all its interactions. Nurturing an understanding of science and a respect for nature is especially important to me. I have a particular passion for ecology and all things botanical. I love to teach science for a number of reasons; to develop students' critical thinking skills, foster a desire for exploration and inquisition, create a solid scientific foundation for future education, develop a better understanding of the world around them, and MAKE CONNECTIONS! As John Muir wrote, "When we try to pick out anything by itself, we find it hitched to everything else in the Universe."
