I work with students who come from a variety of living situations. Many come in not for an education but for love and a safe place. The best way for a student to learn is through connecting new knowledge to their own previous real world experiences. Because that area can sometimes be lacking, forming a real world connection can be difficult for these students. My students value voice and choice in their education, and with that I am pushing them to be the best person they can be! I am also an ATPE member.
