Our school is located in an urban setting. We are a Title 1 funded school that serves free breakfast and lunches to all students. Many of the students attending our school live in neglected apartment housing, which is a factor to our high mobility rate (students transferring in and out of the school due to loss of leases on apartments). Because of the high mobility rate, the students struggle with making and maintaining adult and peer connections. We are a very diverse community. The school offers Bilingual Spanish and English classes as well as classes for English Language Learners. We have many ethnic communities represented including those of Latino/Hispanic, Asian, African, Caucasian, and Native American descent.
