The materials selected will make a difference in my students’ learning because it will provide various books that represent all students that enter my classroom. The materials will also provide valuable materials that students utilize on a daily basis. In English, students are required to read a lot of classic books and stories. I want my students to know that there are also amazing books and stories that represent them. All of my students are on an IEP and are being serviced for learning disabilities in reading fluency, reading comprehension, and / or written expression. I know the materials selected will spark and interest in reading and improve reading fluency and comprehension skills. The classroom materials will provide students the opportunity to learn and complete tasks and the opportunity for me to plan lessons and activities without the stress of not having enough supplies for all students.
