My students are exceptional need early childhood and elementary students with a wide range of disabilities to include: autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, chromosome abnormalities, orthopedic impairments, intellectual disabilities, and speech-language delays. My students function more than 2 grade levels below their actual grade. Despite their challenges they are energetic and excited to learn new information and skills. They work extra hard and we celebrate small and large accomplishments. I am here to teach them what they need to know to be as independent as possible. They give their best effort and work hard to reach their goals. The students in our school live in a rural, low socio-economic area and 68% receive free or reduced meals.
