Tables will make it easier to do collaborative activities in the classroom. They also take up less space than desks, because they seat four students per table. Since students will each have Chromebooks this year, these tables will allow each student to have a little extra surface to work with, whereas the desks they have now do not leave much room once the Chromebook is on top. They will be doing interactive notebooks and math workshops (think “centers”) this year as well, and these tables will make those types of activities much easier PLUS the added benefit of collaboration/helping each other.
