The Southside Junior High Band consists of 6th, 7th and 8th grade students ranging from beginner to intermediate players. There are a 120 members in band out of 420 total enrollment in the school. This means that almost 30% of the school benefits from this band program! Our goal is to always keep recruiting and growing our program! All of these students were affected by the 2016 flood that completely devastated the Southside campus, and a large majority of students' homes. Many of the students are still living in temporary housing, and our school is currently residing behind another Junior High School in temporary facilities. To make life as normal as possible, I try to make band as inclusive as possible, even when financial issues come into play. We appreciate all of the support we can get to be the best program we can possibly be!
