When you struggle to read giving students a choice is an important part of the process of being literate. For this project, I will create a book tasting event, restaurant style. It will give my students the ability to "taste" several books and choose the one they want to read. They will come together in book clubs to read and discuss this book. We will work on developing good fluency during this project by using fluency phones and timers. Student choice is so important when creating lifelong readers. Rather than focus on what they can't read, I will get them to focus on what they can do and enjoy the characters and plots in the books they choose.
