Reading achievement is so important to my scholars and to me. Reading is the gateway that unlocks the imagination. My students understand the importance of reading, and they strive daily to achieve reading stamina and growth. Having a clutter free zone allows the students to think clearly during independent practice and grow their brains. We need carts with drawers, book pouches, a laminator, and a label maker. Each table cluster will have their own tubs to store their supplies for Guided Reading as well as their reading specific stations. Having a laminator in our room will enhance the the station work and improve the longevity of the projects. It will protect the station work from spills, writing, and anything else that can decrease the longevity. Using laminating sheets also makes our work look really neat. Book Pouches are extremely important to protect our books from harm. Students choose on-level books to read each week. We split into two cohorts, and the students take their books with them to each class. What better way to keep their books together and protected than in book pouches? Students will be able to keep up with their books, and they will be safe. Our label maker will ensure each student's name is printed neatly on each book bag so that it can be easily found should my scholars misplace them.
