My students come to school each day eager to learn. The school is a title 1 school which means 99% of the students are below poverty level. They attend school that has 600 students. Resources are very limited. It is very hard to get students to bring in $2 for a class trip, let alone anything else they need for supplies. Since it is a special education class they really benefit from hands on class work. Centers, journals, and interactive games are the best way for my students to understand the concepts, and reach the standards that New York State has deemed acceptable for their age group.
