Technology is a huge part in our lives - no matter what our age.
Kindergarteners are engaging with technology more frequently and I'd love to use that as an advantage to their learning. For my project, I'd like to purchase the Osmo kit, 2 iPads, along with engaging games to use with iPads to allow for the expansion of their learning and increase their engagement.
The Osmo system will allow students to interact with the iPad so they can increase and develop social, math, writing, and reading skills through critical thinking, imaginative play, and physical manipulation. They will be able to develop social skills while working with others to solve a problem or complete a task. They will develop math skills through games like the Pizza Company where they can manage their own pizza shop and make mathematical decisions. They will be able to feed their creative outlet with the Osmo monster where students can create a picture and have it come to life before writing their story. This will motivate reluctant writers to develop a sense of confidence for their story.
