Physical movement is a vital part of my instruction and dynamic of my classroom, allowing students to deepen their understanding of concepts through movement is crucial to student engagement. I would love to have a rug in our classroom to get kids out of their seats and to the carpet. The rug with individual squares will give them their own space and create a sense of safety. This will also give organization to structured partner talk while on the rug. Student engagement is key to building a community of students who possess high social-emotional skills and empathy. I make sure these skills are integrated into my lessons, both as a cognitive skill and as a social-emotional one. I have a passion for teaching and hunger to spark my student’s interest and create lifelong learners. It was one of the best years yet in making learning come alive for my students. My students left my classroom feeling confident, competent and successful. Thank you for your interest and consideration.
