Student engagement via the use of hands-on activities, demonstrations, models, and experiments is vital to the development of love and understanding of science. Funding is low so microscopes and interactive boards are not available. Having, at least, a projector will allow students to better understand various concepts of science. Additionally, it gives them other options for student learning and better aids those students who are visual learners. We are currently a school/district with low ratings. Having grown up in a district with consistently top ratings, I strongly believe that the availability of technology and other resources is very important to student learning.
