-My school is a priority school (Title 1), so the students are on free/reduced lunch of some form. My program does not get much funding for how far my students have come. When I started, the students struggled to read music and work together as a group. I have worked hard to instill a sense of pride and respect for my students. I tell my students, "The audience does not think about what have or don't have, they think about what you are about to show them. On stage, having an audience applaud for you and knowing you did your best is what matters." My program has doubled in sized from last year to this year and I expect the same to happen next year.
