My students are faced with several challenges both in and out of the classroom. Despite the many challenges they face, I am looking to provide my students with a meaningful learning experience. The use of Chromebooks enables my students to stay competitive in a technology-driven educational system. The students are required to take most of the state assessments on computers. These tests determine whether they will move on to the next grade or not. My students will practice lessons using these requested HP Chromebooks to become comfortable with the technology. We lost our Computer lab due to damage after Hurricane Irma and we are trying to regain confidence in our students again. My students, who are from lower income homes, deserve the opportunity to have access to the same technology as other students from higher economic backgrounds. Obtaining these additional Chromebooks will enable more of my students to complete their practice lessons in Reading class and become comfortable with the technology that will be used to evaluate them.
