Our 6th grade students are the future female scientists of our community! Here at the YWLA, we teach our students to be prepared for college and trailblazers in science. As a 6th grade science teacher, I see students from a diverse background and academic ability and it is my goal to prepare them all for careers in STEM. These formative assessment tools will help me assess my students on a daily basis so I know how to help them in the future. When students come in my classroom, we start with a warm up that activates prior knowledge. The white boards and pockets are a great way to engage them in this process and get 100% participation. Students love using the Post-It pads to collaborate and plan their science experiments. We also will use them to review for tests and summarize the results of debates. They're a great way to get students talking!
