I love literacy! I have always loved to read -- immersing myself on the prairie with Laura Ingalls or finding clues with Nancy Drew. But when I began to teach reading almost 10 years ago in an inner-city school, I was shocked and saddened to realize that so many children struggle to read. Fast forward through nine years of teaching and a masters degree in reading, I am still passionate about children having the necessary reading skills in order to succeed in life. If they end up loving books, it's a double reward! I love when my students' imaginations are sparked by words strung together into wonderful text! Thanks for reading about my projects and considering a donation. It is very much appreciated!
