My classroom has three desktop computers for students to use. NONE of them have worked since September and the priority is on the new teacher computers for service. I need to give my kids a fighting chance at using technology for something rewarding! Research, essay typing and editing, visual teaching strategies, and more can be used if I have the technology to teach! My students do group work often and just eight Chromebooks would be LIFE CHANGING! My students know that with the testing in the schools and the broken computers it is almost impossible to get onto any form of technology. This would change their perspectives and allow them to see that education can help them.
